A Styled Shoot That Will Be Forever Remembered
Flashback Storytime: When I was contacted by Paula in from Soft Elegance photography to participate in a styled shoot, I was thrilled. Giddy. Ecstatic. It was the moment when I felt like someone other than my husband thought I could do work worthy of photographing. I poured my whole heart into creating something worthy of publication and know all of the other vendors did as well, because everything turned out so perfectly. (and the models kept smiling even though it was literally 17 degrees out!)
It was a story for the ages: our model couple had recently gotten married, yet had major photographer problems (as in they didn't show up in time) so the opportunity to relive their big day was, well, a big deal. Little did those participating know that less than a year later, Daviel, her husband, would tragically lose his life. So even though it was "staged," now the images taken that day are a tangible reminder of their love and tenderness they obviously experienced as a couple.
I know pictures will never take away the pain of losing a loved one, but hopefully seeing the photos with her beloved, she can remember the happy times they shared together before he was taken too soon. I feel blessed to have taken part in this day and to have met them and witnessed of their genuine love.
